Fans love a good crossover. Batman and Harry Potter are two major intellectual properties with massive followings that surprisingly hadn’t yet crossed paths before. That is, until now. With Warner Brothers in charge of both franchises, it’s a wonder that this hasn’t happened outside of the following digital art. Each character in this article from both worlds are paired together for specific reasons. Let’s start with the stars first though, Harry Potter meets Batman.
The title characters of their books and screen adaptations, Harry and Batman, whose not-so-secret identity is Bruce Wayne, have some things in common. Besides the fact that they are the main characters, they are both orphans. Harry’s parents were murdered by the vile Lord Voldemort, while Bruce’s parents were executed by a thug named Joe Chill. Both characters grow to become the heroes of their own tales, mastering their trades, with some help from trusty sidekicks.
Like Batman and Harry, Robin and Ron have some commonalities. Robin, aka Tim Drake, is a close ally to Batman, much like Ron is to Harry, there by his side through thick and thin. Both teens have a lighter side to them and often inject a little humor into the story.
Zatanna is a master of magic, while Hermione is still learning, though she is pretty advanced for her age. It seems logical that if these two worlds were to meet, Granger would look up to the Princess of Prestidigitation.
These two purely evil and pale arch-nemeses of the heroes, with their wicked smiles, would make a dangerous pair. While Voldemort is pretty powerful, the Joker is equally unpredictable and dangerous.
Hagrid is a strong and trustworthy friend to Harry, much like Batgirl and Nightwing are to the Dark Knight. Hagrid is so big, he deserved two Bat-family members to team up with. Rest in peace to Robbie Coltrane, who recently passed.
It makes sense that the two Sorcerer Supremes of their worlds would pair up. Dumbledore, the Headmaster of Hogwarts, and Fate are both are heads of orders attempting to keep potent evils from gaining control of their respective realms. Together they’d be difficult to match.
It’s likely that Catwoman would take a liking to Professor McGonagall with the witch’s ability to transform into a tabby cat. Maybe Minerva could help steer Selina in the right direction when she goes astray.
These two brattish and troublesome teens with a knack for dark magic would make for a disastrous duo. Klarion the Witch Boy and Draco Malfoy, in their black attire, may eventually butt heads with those out-of-control egos.
Both Professor Snape and the Scarecrow, real name Professor Crane, are masters of potions. While Crane is nefarious, Snape is good at pretending to be. Snape may just play along until he’s able to figure out what the master of fear is cooking up.
Jason Blood transforms into the beastly demon known as Etrigan, while Sirius Black becomes a large wolf-like black dog. Both are good men who are able to steer their other forms in the right direction. It’s likely that they’d bond with their similar personalities and abilities.
Who in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would Poison Ivy fancy? I think it’s more of a question of “What would she fancy?” The answer is most likely those wailing plant creatures known as Mandrakes or the Whomping Willow, for obvious reasons. The Whomping Willow is too massive to squeeze into this frame, so here she is with the former.
Harley Quinn was a looney lady criminal for her first several years. Bellatrix Lestrange is equally looney, though probably further down the evil totem pole. These two nuts would probably get along great at first, though it’d eventually come to a disastrous but amusing blowout.
Ra’s Al Ghul and Lucius Malfoy both have a stern and unsmiling demeanor about them. Half the time they’re both cloaked and disguised in ghoulish masks as they plot to carry out devilish deeds in the name of a more powerful evil.
Alfred Pennyworth is a notable ally to Batman/Bruce, and he also keeps Wayne Manor nice and clean inside, amongst several other duties. Dobby the House Elf is similar to Alfred in these ways. He only wants to help Harry Potter, while performing all the chores for the Malfoys, but in a slave-like manner. It makes sense that these two servants might bond. Alfred would surely help Dobby out of his bad situation.
Two men with disfigured halves of their faces. Two-Face, aka Harvey Dent, went full villain, while Mad-Eye, aka Alastor Moody, only seemed bad due to being imprisoned while the sinister Barty Crouch Jr impersonated him. Surely the real Mad-Eye Moody would have nothing to do with Two-Face and his diabolical schemes.
We all know that Tom Riddle goes on to become Lord Voldemort. However, his younger self, in apparition form, was quite cocky and narcissistic, much like the Riddler, aka Edward Nygma. And yes, their names… Hard to overlook that. It’s a riddle just how this relationship might end.
Peter Pettigrew, sometimes referred to as Wormtail, has that same buck-toothed smile as Jervis Tetch, the Mad Hatter. He looks eerily similar to the earlier version of Jervis in the Animated Series. One turns into a rat, while the other likes to test out his tech on rats. Curiouser and curiouser how this team-up would pan out.
